How to make Corn Cake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (tea) of green corn (straight from the cob);
- 1 cup (tea) of unleavened wheat flour ;
- 1 cup (tea) of milk;
- 1 and ½ cup (tea) of sugar ;
- 3 whole eggs;
- 3 tablespoons of margarine;
- 1 pack of grated coconut ;
- 1 heaped tablespoon yeast .
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
- In a blender, beat the corn already removed from the cob, the milk, the eggs and the margarine.
- Beat well until the corn is crushed.
- Then put the mixture already made, the wheat flour, the sugar, the grated coconut and, finally, the yeast.
- Grease a mold with a hole in the middle and, after placing all the ingredients in it, place in a preheated oven at 180ºC.
- Bake the cake for approximately 1 hour or until golden.
- Remove from the oven and wait for the candy to cool down to unmold.
How to make apples of love
Ingredients for a yield of 12 servings:
- 1 kg of sugar;
- 500 ml of water;
- 1 spoon (soup) of vinegar ;
- powdered or liquid red food coloring;
- 12 apples (small or medium);
- ice cream sticks.
METHOD OF PREPARATION FOR THE APPLES:
- Wash and dry all the apples.
- Stick each one with one or two toothpicks (the toothpicks help a lot when caramelizing the apples).
- Grease aluminum molds with a little oil.

- Put all the ingredients for the syrup in a pan.
- Just stir the pan, not using any type of spoon so as not to break the point of the syrup.

- Within seconds, dip the tip of an ice cream stick into the syrup and drip into the tin.
- Press the syrup with your finger (it will knead) and let go. If the sound made indicates that she is more solid, turn off the fire immediately and start dipping the apples and putting them in the already greased shape.
- Make the process as brief as possible, as the syrup gradually hardens.
How to make candied orange peels
Ingredients:
- 5 oranges;
- 600g of sugar;
- 3 tablespoons of corn glucose;
- 300 ml of water.
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
- Cut the oranges into 4 pieces and remove the pulp.
- Remove the white parts of the shells.
- Cut the peels into strips of 1 cm each.
- Cover them with water.
- Leave them cooking for 10 minutes (counted from boiling).
- Drain the water.
- Refill the pot with water and bring it to a boil.
- Repeat this operation 3 times.
- Heat another pan with 500g of sugar, corn syrup and water.
- Let it thicken slightly.
- Place the orange peels and cook over low heat for another 15 minutes, stirring constantly with a spoon until the syrup is almost dry.
- Place absorbent paper on a baking sheet and add the remaining sugar, spreading it over the surface of the utensil.
- With the help of a fork, take each of the strips and pass them in the sugar;
- Let them rest overnight.
- After this process, store them in closed jars, lined with absorbent paper.
